Does anyone know of any media degree/programs in the DC area? Specifically for web?

This isn’t quite DC-area, but I (along with a few other DC Refreshers) went through JMU’s School of Media Arts and Design undergrad program (down in beautiful Harrisonburg, VA). There’s bound to be something at one of the colleges in DC, though.

George Mason University offers two non-degree courses in their TechAdvance program : Web Design and Web Developer . The Web Developer class begins this weekend 2/16, so you’ll need to register immediately if you’re still interested.

If you’re looking at pursuing an undergraduate degree, I believe the closest thing GMU has to offer is within the College of Art and Visual Technology

Corcoran – College of Art + Design seems to be a proper design school (you can tell because they use a plus sign for an ampersand), and they have full-fledged programs like Interactive Media Design.

Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University is a design school that offers non-degree certification programs in web design, graphic design, photography, etc. They just opened a campus in Georgetown last fall. I’m doing their graphic and web design combined program now and I like it so far.
