About
Our History
Refresh DC was founded by Jason Garber in 2006, starting with a handful of people meeting at a bar to talk about the web. From there, momentum built quickly, and what started small soon grew into standing room only crowds of well over a hundred.
Refresh DC is for people building the web: developers, designers, strategists, writers, entrepreneurs, and anyone working at the intersection of creativity and technology in the Washington DC area. It's a place to share what you're working on, learn from people doing the same, and find your people in an industry too big for any one person to know it all.
It's been over 20 years now, and that's still what we do best. Whether it's a technical talk, a hands on workshop, an education initiative, or just good conversation over drinks, Refresh DC remains a place where DC's creative and tech communities can discover new ideas, connect with peers, and refresh.
Team
Refresh DC is organized by a volunteer board pulling from events, education, and special projects, each bringing different backgrounds and skills to the table. Interested in volunteering? Let us know.
